How to beat Second-Best Stockfish
- In quiet positions the second-best move is often nearly as good as the best, so it plays close to full strength there.
- It is weakest where exactly one move holds: a threat that needs a single answer, a piece that must be recaptured, a check with one good reply. Force those positions and it has to play the other move.
- Repetition and the fifty-move rule are enforced: a position that comes back a third time is a draw.
