Review Chess privacy policy

Updated 17 October 2026. This policy covers the Review Chess plugins for ChatGPT and Claude, published by RVChess, including its MCP connector and embedded RV Chess interface. The website privacy policy separately covers the standalone website. In the plugin, game data and analysis are shared with your conversation as described below.

Data used to fulfil your request

The plugin processes submitted public chess-site usernames, game URLs, PGN, game headers, FEN, move history, selected positions and analysis settings. Game headers may contain player names and ratings. It imports supported public game links through the RV Chess game adapter. It does not log into your Chess.com or Lichess account or read private messages.

Browser analysis and conversation data

Stockfish runs in the embedded interface’s browser. The MCP server imports and parses game inputs; it does not run a second engine or store reviewed games in a custom review database. Game data, selected-position context, evaluations, legal continuations and verification results are returned to the conversation host, ChatGPT or Claude, so it can answer your questions. Plugin results therefore do not remain exclusively on your device.

OpenAI handles that conversation under its applicable privacy policy, terms and your account’s data controls. When you use Claude, Anthropic handles the conversation under its applicable privacy policy, terms and your account controls. Deleting local RV Chess data does not delete conversations held by either host.

The connector does not store a chess-account preference. If you ask your conversation host to remember a confirmed chess username, that memory is controlled by the host and its account settings, independently of RV Chess.

Storage, accounts and optional features

The shared RV Chess interface uses browser storage for reviews, history and preferences. Clear that storage using your browser or host controls. Optional RV Chess account synchronization, feedback and contributed games use the website’s corresponding services and are covered by its website privacy policy. Do not submit sensitive information in game comments or support messages.

Network providers and usage events

Requests are processed by the hosting provider used by the connector, Vercel for rvchess.com, OpenAI for ChatGPT and ChatGPT Sites where applicable, and Anthropic for Claude. The public submission loads Stockfish assets from rvchess.com. Existing private Sites installations may load them from unpkg. Public imports can contact the relevant chess site. These providers receive network metadata needed to deliver requests and may keep operational logs under their own policies and settings.

The shared website code can emit usage events such as review starts and completions. Its defined event properties exclude game moves, player names and board positions; they can include an anonymous browser identifier and attribution information. The plugin does not mount the standalone website’s analytics root components.

Retention and deletion

The connector has no persistent game-review database. Browser records remain until cleared or removed through the interface’s local history controls. Conversation retention and deletion depend on your OpenAI or Anthropic account settings for the host you use. For information held through optional RV Chess accounts, feedback or support, contact us; the website policy explains its account deletion controls. This policy does not promise a retention period for hosting or CDN logs outside the application’s control.
